What we are
Emerging Minds is an information technology service provider for the non-profit community.
The mission of Emerging Minds is to provide the non-profit community free information technology services so they can achieve their mission more efficiently.
Emerging Minds was founded on the campus of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2002 by a graduate student who was frustrated with his current choices for Friday night entertainment and was looking to offer a mentally stimulating alternative that yielded a positive impact on society. The result of this young man's disappointment was an event known as "Mingling of the Minds." With the help of two other students the young man founded the organization Emerging Minds, which sponsored Friday evening social forums that addressed education, political and economic issues. For 10 years from 2002 through 2012, Emerging Minds provided an online news magazine focusing on these issues and in 2007 and 2008 was selected as the top online magazine in its niche.
In 2012, however, the organization embarked on a new era. After 10 years of growing into experts in their field of information technology, the founders agreed that the community would be better served through the practical application of their information technology skills. As a result, the new focus of Emerging Minds, Inc. is to accelerate non-profits in achieving their mission through practical application of emerging information technology trends.
