Ndola, Zambia - Finland has granted Zambia 20 million euro in budget support, agriculture, the private sector, the environment and natural resources development, according to Finish ambassador Sinikka Antila here. Antila disclosed this on Monday when she paid a courtesy call on Copperbelt deputy permanent secretary, Christopher Mutembo, in the northern mining town of Ndola. She said Finland had enjoyed warm bilateral relations with Zambia for a long time, adding that Zambia was among five African countries that have accessed funding for good governance and other development activities from her country. “For this year, the Finnish government has given Zambia 20 million euro and the support will be increased each year,” she said. Antila said that there was a lot of potential in the forestry industry in Zambia, adding that Finland was trying to see how best to support the sector. Source: APA |
