Addis Ababa, Ethopia -A Pan-African Alliance on e-Commerce has been launched on Friday in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital. The alliance launched during a regional forum that was held for the past two days in Addis Ababa on Trade Facilitation and Aid for Trade is aimed at intensifying cooperation and initiating common projects of interest to African countries and the sub-region.Â
Ibrahim Nour Eddine Diane, president of executive committee of the alliance told journalists that so far 10 African countries have signed with the alliance while a number of other countries are expected to join the alliance in the next few months. The alliance, according to the president, is the first of its kind on the continent, and the signatories hope to encourage more countries to create their own single window platforms that would become part of the wider network.
