US to assist Nigeria with nuclear power ambitions

Abuja, Nigeria - The United States said on Monday in Abuja that it will assist Nigeria and its African partners in nuclear technology by providing technical and scientific support through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The US ambassador to Nigeria, Robin Sander, said at a meeting of the Forum of Nuclear Regulatory Bodies in Africa (FNRBA) that "nuclear technology is a vital element in power generation and essential for economic growth."
