Nairobi, Kenya (emergingminds.org) - The American government on Wednesday announced that it has donated 41 military cars of the Hummer model to Kenya armed forces to enable them to traverse the country?s borders and enforce security. Speaking to journalists in Nairobi, American ambassador Michael Ranneberger said that Kenya is the only African country in the continent that is strategically located for the fight against terror and there was need for its military to be better equipped if the war against terrorism is to be won in the region. Ranneberger said that American personnel were in the country to assist the Kenya security personnel on how to use the cars. Ranneberger also visited the Nairobi Women?s hospital to console a female political aspirant Flora Igoki Tera, who was recently attacked by political thugs. He urged politicians to shun political violence and preach peace during the political campaigns ahead of the general elections in December. Source: APA |
